They control solar heat, glare, fading and in winter reradiate the room's heat. They provide daytime privacy only with full vision out to the street. Rooms stay bright. They are a lamination of metalized Mylar (polyester) and dyed, UV treated Mylar joined with heat and pressure to form a flexible and durable transparent shade material.
The metalized layer of KOOL VUE shades reflect excess solar heat back through the glass providing instant relief from the sun's intense heat, eliminating "hot spots" and providing balanced comfort throughout the room. In winter at night or on cloudy days, the transparent layer of aluminum reflects back the room's radiant heat that would be lost through windows, reducing heating costs. Our wide range of 9 transparent colors meets any decorator's requirement.
Smoke/Smoke, Bronze/Bronze, Black/Bronze and Black/Gold are the most popular as they are thickest gauge and hang the best. They are 4+ gauge, a 3 ply lamination. Black/Gold is the most effective against heat and glare but it is mirrored. Smoke/Smoke gives a neutral cast to the room whereas Bronze/Bronze and Black/Bronze give an earthy tone. Smoke/Silver and Bronze/Silver are thinner gauge. They are 3+ gauge, a 2 ply lamination. The layer of aluminum is exposed on the exterior facing side and looks like a mirror.
