FLUORESCENT LIGHT COVERS Control Ultraviolet Radiation
Fluorescent bulbs emit ultraviolet light. Inside buildings this concentrated radiation causes fading and materials to turn brittle. It can also aggravate the symptoms of people who are sensitive to ultraviolet light. A host of auto immune diseases such as lupus, or inflammatory disease such as rosacea can be triggered by UV light from fluorescent bulbs. Fluorescent light covers are clear or tinted, mylar sleeves that fit over straight standard sized 48 inch T-8 or T-12 Fluorescent bulbs. These sleeves control ultraviolet radiation. The tough mylar film sleeve protects the bulb and adds a safety factor as well.
