This acts as a guide channel that helps prevent the shade bottom from blowing out or twisting in the wind. Side channels are good way to keep the bottom of motorized shades locked in place.

TIE DOWN LOOPS AND CABLE SYSTEM
Option #1: Tie Down Loops with Optional Cable System for Exterior Shades. There is a eye screw on each end of the weight bar and stainless steel cables are mounted on each side of the shade.
