EXTERIOR SOLAR SHADES
Transparent Roller Shades for exterior use are more energy efficient than interior solar shades. Because they block the sun's rays before they have a chance to enter and convert to heat, they can save up to 60% in air conditioning costs. Designed to reduce heat transfer, these fabrics also control blinding glare and reduce fade. Transparent shades provide daytime privacy during daylight hours with full vision outwards. Shades are custom manufactured to fit your exact dimensions. Made of the highest quality materials they are great for patios, patio doors, decks, porches, windows and sliding glass doors. To lock the shade to the roller, a ten inch piece of vinyl covered fiberglass is secured to the top of the shade material for a weatherproof adhesive bond. This bond is further anchored with spring loaded clips. Dampness and heat will not affect the adhesion. All exterior shades are constructed with an aluminum weight bar at the bottom. This bar is available in white, black, bronze or anodized and is secured to the welded bottom weight pocket. On the left and right hand sides of this bottom bar are tie down loops, which are used to tie down the shade either to hooks or a Bungee cord. An optional cable system on each side of the shade helps stabilize the shade movement and can also serve as a tie down for motorized shades. Optional side channels are offered in white, bronze, black or anodized. The 2 1/2" width is recommended. Fascias in matching colors are available to hide the roller. A reverse roll to hide the roller is offered at no charge. Available Motorization Options - The Smart Motor and the 110 Volt Hardwired Motor are the only two motors that are rated for exterior use. Weathershield Shades come in four openness factors
All Weathershield fabrics come 96" wide. Any shade BOTH wider and higher than 96" x 94" will have a horizontal seam. Arizona Sun, 8% openness can be special ordered 120" wide. Seams are sonically welded together under extremely high heat so they will not come apart. Widest shade is 144". Natte's fiberglass fabrics are coated with PVC Plastisol fibers and are the premier product for solar protection. Ranging in openness from 9-14%, they are much more resistant to the elements. Glass fibers provide excellent dimensional stability and when combined with Plastisol insure longevity, UV stability, resistance to tough weather conditions (heat and cold) and chemical agents. The Plastisol coating at 1/100th of a millimeter, also insures the perfect regularity of the fiber and guarantees both transparency and flatness of the fabric when installed. All Natte fabrics come 98" wide. Any shade BOTH wider and higher than 98" x 96" will have a horizontal seam. Seams are sonically welded together under extremely high heat so they will not come apart. Fire Classification These shades are lead free. By totally blocking out the sun, Soltis High Performance Blackout Shades are the ultimate defense against glare and heat. Highly resistant to all sorts of weather conditions, Soltis fabrics are made of high tenacity polyester yarn. They will not stretch or lose their shape under heavy loads. Interior facing colors are in beige and brown and white. The exterior facing side is a dulled silver finish to knock out the heat. Soltis comes 62" wide. Any shade BOTH wider and higher than 62" x 60" will need to be seamed.
