RECREATIONAL VEHICLE AND MARINE SOLAR SHADES
Marine Shades
Kool Vue Mylar Shades are practical for cruise ships or pilot houses where the temperature and dampness are controlled with air conditioning. For pleasure boats we recommend the Phifer 4000 Sheerweave Shades. This material is woven from heavy duty, color fast, non shrinking, washable yarns that resist mold and mildew that won't stick to windows in boats that don't have air conditioning. Phifer 4000 is available in 3,5 or 10% openness factors depending upon the light requirements. We suggest Chalk, Alabaster or Pebblestone with a 10% openness factor for excellent heat, glare and fade control and to retain the open feeling of windows.
Shades can be installed on a spring roller or clutch system. However, to keep shades from bouncing around we recommend using our Notched Track System. The shade fits into notched sidetracks that are mounted on the sides of the windows. A third option which requires no drilling and is the easiest to install, would be using our Kirsh E-Z Skylight System. Spring pressure rods at the top and bottom. Rods sit inside welded pockets. The panels are fixed but outward visibility remains clear because of the openness of the weave.
